NUEVA YORK . AP. “Hamilton” obtuvo el martes 16 nominaciones a los
premios Tony, una cifra récord con la que se asegura un pedestal en la
historia de Broadway.
El exitoso musical, escrito y protagonizado por Lin-Manuel Miranda,
narra la historia del primer secretario del Tesoro de Estados Unidos a
ritmo de hip hop.
Las 16 nominaciones que obtuvo superan a las 15 recibidas por “The Producers” y “Billy Elliot”.
“Hamilton” fue postulada virtualmente en todas las categorías a las que era elegible, desde actuación hasta escenografía.
Competirá el mes entrante para el premio más prestigioso, al mejor
musical nuevo, con “Bright Star”, “School of Rock”, “Shuffle Along” y
“Waitress”.
En la categoría de mejor obra teatral figuran “Eclipsed”, “The Father”, “The Humans” y “King Charles III”.
Los premios Tony se entregarán el 12 de junio en una ceremonia en el
Teatro Beacon de Nueva York, con James Corden como anfitrión.
